The first written record is from 1311, but the name of the municipality as we know it today, Zdechovice, was not used until 1720. In 1353 – 1363, Jakub of Zdechovice was the owner of the municipality. After the lairds of Zdechovice, Zdechovice was taken over by the Lords of Vartenberk in the 16th century. In 1516, Vilém of Pernštejn purchased it from them. In 1547, his son Jan of Pernštejn sold the entire Nový Bydžov estate along with Zdechovice to Emperor Ferdinand I, who sold it the same year to Vilém of Valdštejn. Then owners took turns. In 1783, Raab’s reforms took place, during which the hunger of settlers for land of the Prasek manor was partially satisfied.
